Edward gasped angrily as Rosalie threw Bella carelessly from the tree she was in. He picked up running speed, trying to catch Bella in time. Edward yelled unintelligible curse words at the top of his lungs at his blonde maniac of a sister, who did not seem to care what she had just done.
But, luckily, he reached Bella just in time, so that she did not hit the ground. He let out a huge breath of relief, as Bella lay in his arms, safe. As he caught Bella, he did not stop running, he kept going at his lightning-quick pace deeper into the forest where Rosalie hopefully would not find the two.

Rosalie was dissapointed....that wasn't as fun as she'd thought it would be....except for the whole "hitting" Edward part....that was just priceless....she thought with a smile.

Just as when she had been falling, it took Bella a moment to realize that she was no longer plummeting to her demise, and that she was, instead, safe in Edwards arms. Once she realized that, she clung onto him for dear life.

He noticed Bella come to her senses, and he held her tighter as he kept running. Rosalie hadn't made up her mind about chasing or not; if she chose to come, Edward wanted to gain enough distance so she would not reach them; and even if she didn't come, he felt better far from her regardless. The branches of the evergreen trees swept past them, cutting Edward's ever-healing arms that protected Bella so. He had never felt so much anger, so much hate, so much unbelieving bitterness toward Rosalie. She had shown her hatred toward Bella quite clearly these past years, but never like this, never so boldly, never so intentionally, hatefully careless. Edward tried to rationalize the cause of Rosalie's actions. It couldn't have been that simple, harmless prank we pulled... yes, it was mean, but we only meant to flare her temperament for a little while... it would blow over. She must have some other reason for her resentment. What could have made Rosalie act in such a way? He continued on his path of blinding speed, contemplating though not exactly sure of his destination, but nevertheless still going.

Bella closed her eyes, tucking her head so that it rested against Edwards chest, as well as against her arm, which was already changing colors. She could feel the bruise spreading beneath the skin of her arm, and it made her shudder slightly.

Edward looked down to Bella, whom he was holding very tightly, and who was clinging back just as tightly. He smiled a very hesitant smile, worrying about how badly Rosalie had hurt her.

Bella looked up at Edward and saw his smile, and how it didn't reach his eyes. She smiled back at him weakly, shifting slightly, and wincing when the shift disrupted her arm. "Ow," she muttered.

Edward whipped his head in the direction he had came, and glared fiercely in the direction of Rosalie. If looks could kill, Rosalie would have dropped dead, even if she was a vampire.
"How badly are you hurt?" He didn't dare touch her arm; in fact, he set her gently on the bed of ferns beside them. He didn't want to make anything worse; he had temper problems, and he knew that. He needed to control his emotions better, or it could get out of control.

Bella looked up at Edward and smiled. "It's not that bad," she said, looking down at her arm. She had to fight from keeping a pained look from comming to her face. Her entire arm was bruised, and it hurt to move it. She was pretty sure that it wasn't broke, but then, she had never had a broken arm before.
On the other hand, she had had a broken leg. She winced slightly, as she remembered her time at her old ballet studio in Phoenix with James. No, her arm wasn't broken. It didn't hurt near as badly as when he had broken her leg.

Edward frowned darkly. Of course Bella would play it down to keep him from worrying too much. He knew her well enough to believe that was the truth at this moment. He shook his head. "Bella, we need to get you back. Quickly. It could be a fracture; Carlisle will know what to do." He began to gently lift her up again, taking care to keep the injured arm away from his body. He then raced lightning-quick, a blur to any onlooker. He followed the path he had made getting there, and tried to keep back his angry resentment as best he could. Rosalie would suffer the consequences...

"Edward, I don't think that it's broken," she said, clinging tightly to Edward with her one good arm, while she kept the bruised one folded over her stomach, fingers curled lightly in his shirt. She closed her eyes, feeling the air rushing about them, and feeling her hair tickling her skin as it flew every which way. Bella giggled softly.

Edward ignored her bleak attempt at lying, and continued running swiftly.
They approached the Cullen house in no time. Edward rushed through the front door and yelled for Carlisle, and set Bella down on the couch in the wide living room. Edward stood up again, glancing around to see if Rosalie arrived yet, glaring holes through every thing he looked at. He secretly hoped Rosalie was here, so he could teach her a lesson or two.

Rose wasn't sorry but she also wasen't stupid enough to go home just yet...she would let Edward fume about it for a little while longer...

Rosalie wasn't in range to hear her thoughts just yet, Maybe she was smart enough to stay away a while; it would be the best idea she'd had her whole life. He left Bella on the couch as he searched the house. Where was Carlisle?!

He could not find Carlisle. Then he remember that Carlisle was at the hospital; he was working. "Of course!" He said to no one in particular.
He raced back to Bella, who sat upon the couch. He sat down gently, and put an arm around her. "What are we going to do about your hand?" he asked. "Carlisle's at the hospital. Want me to take you there?"
