Edward parked his shiny Volvo out-of-sight from the highway, and stepped out. Looking upward through the tree canopy, he smiled. It was a beautiful, warm day, with not a cloud in sight. Strange for Forks, but he gladly accepted the blessing. He hoped it would lift Bella's dreary mood.

Bella climbed out of the passenger side of Edward's Volvo, and shut the door behind her. Oh, what a lovely day it was. There didn't seem to be a cloud in the sky, and the sun shone down on everything, including Edward. When she saw him, she gasped, like she was seeing him this way anew. Bella loved the way Edward looked like on days like this. He was beautiful, no matter what he thought.
She walked around the side of the car and stood next to him.

Edward draped an arm loosely around her thin shoulders, and smiled down at her. She looked so beautiful. Long dark hair ruffling in the light breeze, the rare rosiness of her cheeks in the warmth, and her wide chocolate eyes. "So, we're here." He stated, as if it wasn't obvious enough. He gestured toward the faint trail they had made the few times they ventured here. "Walk, or ride?" He asked her with a smirk. He knew she hated walking through the brush and over logs, she more than likely would hurt herself. And she hated seeming weak and human in his eyes.

Bella eyed the trail they'd made to their meadow. She really didn't want to walk it, and reveal yet again how clumsy she was. Her eyes flickered wairily to Edward, more specifically Edward's back, where she knew she would be if she opted to ride and have him run through the woods. She cringed, remembering how sick it made her feel, and her stomach tightened.
Her eyes flickered back to the trail again. She really didn't want to walk it....
She could always close her eyes while Edward was running. That woud be ok, wouldn't it?

Edward's eyes gleamed as he watched Bella's gaze flicker between the trail and himself. Multiple times. A smile playing on his lips, he walked closer to Bella. "Ride, then, love?" He asked teasingly, as he reached for her.
Then they were running. Or more, he was running, she was hanging on as tightly as she could.

Bella had her arms around Edward with all her might, not wanting to fly off into the bushes at any given moment. She had her face buried between her arm and Edward's back, eyes squeezed shut as tightly as she was able. Even though she couldn't see them shooting through the woods at top speed, she could however feel it. She could feel herself getting queazy, but she knew it would be over soon.
Or she hoped, anyway.

Then they were there. He stopped a ways back from the gap in the trees that led to the secluded space, and let Bella off his back carefully, not wanting her to get sick or lightheaded.

Bella feld Edward stop, and slide her from his back. Once she felt both her feet firmly on tghe ground, she opened her eyes and looked around. She saw that they'd arrived at the opening in the trees that lead to the meadow, which she'd already assumed when Edward had stopped. She felt a bit woozy still, but still a smile crept across her face.

Edward ran a finger over her smiling lips. He took her hand, and led her into the meadow.

Bella followed the gentle pull of Edward's hand, and followed him. From all around light castcaded down from above, bathing the entire meadow in a beautiful and serene glow.

It was spring, and the meadow was absolutely perfect. The wildflowers were in full, colorful, aromatic bloom, the sky was perfect blue with not a cloud, and the breeze smelled light and sweet. Edward could tell that Bella was awed, as Edward was too. Edward led Bella gently by the arm to the center of the meadow, where they lay down the first time they were here. he shot a quick, worried glance Bella's way, since the last time she was here she was alone, and nearly caught by Laurent's murderous desire to kill her, and when she discovered the werewolf pack.

Bella saw the look of worry on Edwards face, and she guessed that it was probably due to the events of what happened the last time that she had been to the meadow. It flashed breifly through her mind's eye as she thought about it, but then she closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them again, and looked at Edward, smiling at him. She wouldn't let that distract her right now. She was with Edward in the meadow, not anyone else. And that's all that mattered.

Edward plopped down on the soft, warm grass, and lay back. He liked the warmth of the sun on his body. he smiled, eyes closed.

For a moment, Bella just looked at him. Watched his skin sparkle as the sun shone down on him. After a moment, she sat down beside him, never taking her eyes away from Edward. Slowly, she reached out, and brushed some of his hair away from his forhead. She smiled.

Edward closed his eyes, savoring the warmth of the gesture. When it began to fade, he picked Bella's hand back up and pressed it to his face again, and smiled with closed eyes.
